Industrial storage silos

Manufacture of industrial storage silos: Metal silos made of steel, aluminum, or stainless steel, and flexible silos made of Trevira® Fabric.

Storage of products can be done in bags or industrial hoppers. However, when it’s necessary to store raw materials in large quantities, we recommend the use of our metal silos, made of stainless steel or Trevira® fabric.

At Prillwitz, we provide customized solutions for product storage and feeding to the production line. We offer various unloading, conveying, and screening systems for dry products, depending on the specific product to be processed. Additionally, we can supply dosing systems, granulated product mills, and state-of-the-art scales that ensure rigorous production control.

Advantages of using silos instead of bags.

  • Silos take up less space.
  • They facilitate cleaning.
  • They require fewer personnel.

By combining them with automated extraction and product feeding systems to the production line, the need for personnel is further reduced, as is the likelihood of human errors.

Types of silos we can supply

We have the solution to your dry product storage problem. You can choose from the following silo options, specially designed for storing bulk products:

1- Bolted metal silos for indoor or outdoor use

2- Trevira® fabric flexible silos for indoor use

3- Metal silos for outdoor use

1- Bolted metal silos for indoor or outdoor use

Bolted silos are characterized by their versatility in terms of capacity and geometry (square and circular).

Typically used for indoor applications, but can also be designed for outdoor use if condensation doesn’t pose a problem to the stored product.

Silos can be supplied with capacities ranging from 2 to 300 tons.

Construction can be in carbon or stainless steel according to the requirements.

2-Trevira® fabric flexible silos for indoor use

Trevira® fabric flexible silos have been specially designed to simplify the storage and discharge operations of bulk dry products. Our fabric silos have the advantage of being easily disassembled and square in section, allowing them to be used in confined spaces where the assembly of circular silos would be impossible.

Flexible Silos

This type of silo is suitable for storing raw materials and finds application in industries as diverse as the chemical, plastic, milling, and animal feed industries, among others.

Trevira fabric offers high strength and some permeability, preserving the product’s quality through gas exchange between the interior of the silo and the external environment.

Storage capacity: 2 to 30 tons

3- Metal silos for outdoor use

Designed for outdoor placement, our silos are manufactured under a meticulous production process to achieve 100% tightness.

They can be constructed from various steels and have a capacity to store between 20 and 300 tons. Their application is unlimited: they can be used as flour silos in flour mills, pasta factories, and bakeries, for storing other types of flours in other industries, and for the storage of plastic and chemical materials involved in the production process

How do we prevent moisture condensation in silos?

The humidity inside silos can primarily cause two types of problems:

  1. Moisture in the interior atmosphere condenses and forms water. This occurs because the dew point temperature is reached at some point during the day or year, and the product lacks the capacity to absorb it.
  2. Moisture in the interior atmosphere is absorbed by the product, leading to its deterioration or the formation of clumps and lumps that hinder the discharge of the silo or its subsequent use. This happens with hygroscopic products, including sugar, some plastics, chlorides like table salt, etc

To prevent humidity, we install “Dehumidifiers.” These machines remove moisture from the environment, preventing the dew point temperature from being reached, and thus avoiding water condensation.

  3. Vibratory Extractor
  4. Trilobular Rotary Blower

For the installation of bulk storage systems, we have the necessary machinery to complete the silo installation. Feeding and discharging systems, pneumatic and mechanical conveyors, vibrators and silo fluidizers, dust collectors, cyclones, level indicators and detectors, sieves, mills, rotary valves, etc., are required.
