Regenerative turbine Blower

Regenerative turbine Blowers or side channel blowers are reliable and efficient equipment used for different applications, mainly for pneumatic transport, with flow rates up to 2,500 m3/h and a pressures of up to 1,000 mbar. Their noise level is low and they are low-maintenance products. They currently represent the new technology of suction and blowing equipment.

Principle of operation of TPR regenerative turbines

The air enters through the intake flange 1 and is forced into the pump by the blades of the rotor 3, which rotates directly coupled to the shaft of the electric motor.

Upon entering the chamber on side 2, the air is accelerated in a radial direction and forwards, due to the action of the centrifugal force and the rotation of the rotor.

This gives rise to a toroidal flow between the annular-shaped chamber or “lateral channel” that surrounds the rotor, and the successive cavities existing between its blades.

Every time the air is pushed towards the side channel and returns to a new cavity of the rotor, a gain or increase in its pressure occurs; this is repeated successive times until it is finally discharged abroad through exit 4.

Thanks to this principle, it is possible to obtain vacuum or pressure values comparable to those of multi-stage centrifugal machines, with compact equipment and reduced dimensions.

Types of regenerative turbines

Single stage turbines: They are used in cases where low or medium pressures are required.

Double stage turbines: They are used in cases where high pressures are required.

Advantages over other types of blowers

  • Silent and wear-free operation (absence of rubbing parts)
  • Pulsation-free and oil-free airflow
  • Minimum maintenance. Up to 20,000 hours without maintenance.
  • Does not require lubrication
  • Monoblock execution of reduced dimensions and easy installation.

Accessories and options for regenerative turbines blowers

  • Electric motors of different characteristics (single-phase, anti-explosive, etc.)
  • It is possible to add variable speed drives to achieve greater performance
  • Surface treatments and special seals for handling gases with special requirements
  • Accessories such as pressure control and regulation valves, filters, thermostats, etc.
